The Arthurs Creek Project

A Project by Cherie He

A Kitchen Designed for Connection

The original U-shaped kitchen created an impractical workflow, with a 2.3-metre gap between the sink and fridge, making everyday cooking inefficient. By positioning the sink next to the cooktop and introducing a central island, we enhanced the flow, walkability, and usability of the space—creating a seamless connection to the lounge and dining areas for effortless family gatherings.

At the heart of the design is a custom-crafted island that serves as a multi-functional hub for cooking, working, and casual dining. Elegant wooden posts nod to the home’s farmhouse heritage, while repolished parquetry timber flooring adds warmth and sophistication to the room.

A Laundry That’s Both Stylish & Practical

Designed for modern living, the newly reconfigured laundry seamlessly integrates full-height storage, an elevated washer and dryer setup, and a spacious butler’s sink—ideal for the homeowner’s beloved dogs.

Adding to the character of the space are handcrafted Spanish tiles from Patricia’s award-winning collection, bringing a unique, artisanal charm to this everyday space.

A Transformation That Blends Beauty & Functionality

From its custom details to the carefully curated finishes, this renovation was designed to embrace the surrounding landscape while elevating everyday living. Now, the kitchen and laundry seamlessly integrate style, practicality, and warmth, ensuring that every element feels intentional and inviting.
