Art Deco Elegance Meets Modern Living
The South Yarra Project is a refined apartment renovation that blends Art Deco charm with modern functionality. Led by LTKI Interior Designer Noemi, this transformation reimagines key spaces—most notably the kitchen, bathroom, and ensuite—to create a home that is as practical as it is beautiful.
The kitchen showcases a seamless solid surface benchtop with a striking double bullnose edge, a marble splashback, and 2-pac cabinetry. Opening the curved wall between the kitchen and dining areas improved natural light and flow, while clever storage solutions—including a freestanding coffee cabinet, pull-out drawers, and integrated pantries—maximised every inch of space.
In the bathroom and ensuite, functionality was paramount. A bathtub was replaced with a frameless, stepless shower to create a modern, open layout, while deeper vanities and smartly wrapped cabinetry provide abundant storage. Soft lighting, warm brass fixtures, and light-coloured finishes add comfort and sophistication throughout.
Inspired by the apartment’s architectural curves and tray ceilings, the design references Art Deco elements—streamlined forms, stainless steel handles, and a moody yet luxurious palette—ensuring every detail feels cohesive and timeless.
