How long does it take to renovate the kitchen?
This will vary depending on the size of job and materials chosen. There are numerous stages to renovating your kitchen.
Stage One – The design
This stage can be completed in as little as a couple of meetings, or stretch out further when deciding on styles, materials and colour. Further to cabinetry finishes, are benchtop, splashback, appliances and flooring selections. Once materials, finishes and appliances have been confirmed, the kitchen can be check measured.
Stage Two – Manufacturing the cabinets
Lead times vary depending on selected materials but typically range between 5 – 8 weeks for delivery.
Stage Three – Installation
Usually the old kitchen is pulled out and new cabinets with laminate benchtops installed and reconnected within a few days. However, if a solid surface such as Corian or Engineered Stone like Caesar Stone is used, benchtop templates can only be taken once cabinetry has been installed. Approximately 10 days later the benchtops can be installed and plumbing and wiring fitted off. At this point your kitchen is in working order. Splashbacks are the last thing to be measured and installed. Tile splashbacks can be completed now. Glass splashbacks can be measured & templated at this point, the glass is then cut, toughened and painted before being fitted which usually takes up to two weeks.
From the removal of your old kitchen, through installation, to a fully completed kitchen (assuming there is no structural work required) is typically 4-6 weeks. Your designer will be able to give you specific timings for your job. We like to keep our clients informed along the way. We do this by creating a project specific critical path, (or timeline) for each client which indicates the activity expected throughout the process. In addition your Designer and our Project Coordinator will be in touch throughout the duration of the renovation to answer any queries or resolve any issues that may arise.
